1X Technologies Cat 7 Cable
1X’s Cat 7 cable or Category 7 cable is used for 1000BASE-T and 10GBASE-T Gigabit Ethernet networks. Cat 7 cable performs at up to 600 MHz, with Cat 7A cable performing at up to 1000 MHz.
The cable can be used in maximum lengths of 100 meters. 1X Technologies Cat 7 cable outperforms its predecessors Cat 5, Cat 5e, and Cat 6. While more expensive than Cat 5 or Cat 6 options, The Cat 7 cable holds a longer life at 15 years, compared to just 10 years on the Cat 5 and Cat 6 options. Cat 7 is also a more durable option, making it the best choice with an overall better return on investment.
Each of Cat 7’s twisted wire pairs is fully shielded, resulting in better performance than previous options. This means you’ll find individual shielding of every pair, and additional shielding of the cable as a whole. These twisted, shielded pairs are referred to as Screen Shielded Twisted Pairs (SSTP), or Screened Foiled Twisted Pairs (SFTP). This shielding almost completely eliminates alien crosstalk, an electromagnetic noise that occurs when cables run alongside one or more other signal carrying cables. Alien crosstalk degrades the performance of communication systems.
Cat 7’s design provides more power and less voltage drop, thanks to the larger copper cross-sections. These individual cores are also what makes Cat 7 so easy to work with!
