What is cathodic protection cable? 1X Technologies direct burial rated electrical Cathodic Protection Cable is used to reduce the aging of metal building structures and their electrical systems. Cathodic Protection Wire is most often manufactured with an ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (HMWPE), is rated for 600 volts, class B stranded annealed copper wire conductor. Cathodic protection wire is extremely durable because it is manufactured with Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE, UHMW). HMWPE is a subset of thermoplastic polyethylene. Also known as high-modulus polyethylene, (HMPE), it has extremely long chains, with a molecular mass usually between 3.5 and 7.5 million amu. The longer chain serves to transfer load more effectively to the polymer backbone by strengthening intermolecular interactions. This results in a very tough material, with the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic known to man.

In addition to HMWPE, we supply Cathodic Protection with Halar (ECTFE), and Kynar (PVDF) Insulations. All three of these options offer their own advantages depending on your electrical application and while each of these has thick insulation and jackets, the wire itself is flexible and easy to work with.

Cathodic Protection Cable, also known as CPC, HMWPE Wire,  Halar Wire, Kynar Wire, Cathodic Wire, Anode Cable, and Bonding Cable is used specifically because of its durability for use with underground piping for water, sewage, and is often used in long oil pipelines. Cathodic Protection Cable HMWPE Wire Uses and Applications:

Electrical Cathodic Protection Cable is used against moisture, abrasion, and corrosive chemicals. Cathodic Protection Wire with HMWPE is proven to stop Electrolytic and Galvanic Corrosion in buried or submerged applications such as:
