- Build-to-print manufacturing of precision hardware and electromechanical assemblies
The same vertical manufacturing capability that produces the wire and cable also produces or integrates the higher-level assemblies. This shortens the loop between design change and hardware availability. Prototype harnesses, actuator modifications, or electronics packaging changes can be turned quickly, then transitioned to production under the same quality system.
Customers may engage 1X for a complete subsystem—power distribution, actuation, and interconnect for an unmanned platform, for example—or for individual elements that must interface with equipment from other suppliers. In either case, the delivered hardware includes the documentation and traceability required for the next level of integration or certification.
Complete Aerospace Electrical and Electromechanical Solutions
The 1X aerospace portfolio is built so that programs can obtain the electrical and electromechanical content of a platform from a single source. Unmanned aerial systems, precision actuators, aerospace electronics and displays, robotic manufacturing and inspection cells, electric propulsion and power management equipment, and the high-reliability interconnect that joins them are all engineered and supported under one quality and configuration system.
This approach reduces interface risk, consolidates documentation, and provides a consistent technical point of contact from development through sustainment. Whether the need is a fully integrated unmanned system, a set of flight-control actuators with matching harnesses, a robotic inspection cell for a production line, ground support equipment for a new airframe, or build-to-print hardware to an existing drawing, 1X supplies the equipment with the traceability and program support expected in aerospace.

Applications Across Defense, Commercial, and Space Programs
1X equipment is applied across the full range of aerospace operating environments. The same core technologies—precision actuation, high-reliability interconnect, power electronics, and integrated unmanned or robotic platforms—are configured differently according to the mission, certification basis, and sustainment model of each program.
In defense applications, systems support tactical unmanned aerial vehicles used for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, as well as the ground control, maintenance, and training equipment that accompanies them. Actuators and harnesses are supplied for both new production and fleet upgrades on rotorcraft and fixed-wing platforms. Robotic inspection cells and mobile platforms assist with airframe maintenance and foreign-object detection on flight lines and in hangars. All defense deliverables are supported by the configuration control and traceability required for military programs, and 1X’s status as a registered government contractor facilitates direct supply.
Commercial aviation programs use 1X components for both line-fit and retrofit applications. Precision actuators and their matching harnesses appear in secondary flight controls, cargo systems, and utility functions. Ground support equipment and automated test sets reduce maintenance downtime. For emerging advanced air mobility and hybrid-electric demonstrators, 1X supplies the electric propulsion interfaces, power distribution, and high-flex interconnect needed to move from prototype to production intent.
Space and high-altitude programs rely on 1X for radiation-tolerant electronics options, specialized harness constructions, and electromechanical assemblies that must operate in vacuum and extreme thermal conditions. Ground support and special checkout equipment for spacecraft integration are engineered to the same workmanship standards applied to flight hardware. Traceability and documentation packages are structured to support the acceptance processes of NASA and commercial space customers.
Across all three domains, the ability to supply both the higher-level system and the interconnect that enables it allows programs to maintain a consistent electrical architecture from development through decades of sustainment.
Standards, Specifications, and Workmanship
1X aerospace products are manufactured and tested to the standards and specifications commonly required by defense, commercial, and space customers. Wire and cable constructions follow AS22759, AS81044, M27500, and related military specifications, with additional options for fire-zone, high-temperature, and radiation-resistant applications. Connectorization, shielding, marking, and environmental sealing are performed to established aerospace practices.
Electromechanical and electronic assemblies are built to customer-furnished specifications or to 1X-generated designs that incorporate the environmental, electromagnetic, and reliability requirements of the target platform. Workmanship on harnesses and electronic assemblies follows NASA-STD-8739.4 and equivalent standards. Where programs require additional screening, lot acceptance testing, or first-article inspection, these activities are planned and documented as part of the production process.
For space and high-reliability hardware, material traceability, serialization, and process records are maintained at the level needed for customer acceptance. Ground support equipment is supplied with calibration and functional test records appropriate to its use in maintenance or integration environments.
These practices are applied uniformly. A harness delivered for a tactical unmanned system, an actuator supplied for a commercial aircraft retrofit, and a robotic cell installed on a production line are all supported by documentation generated under the same quality system.
Global Supply and Program Flexibility
1X supports aerospace customers worldwide. While the majority of wire, cable, and many electromechanical assemblies are produced in the United States, selected components and subassemblies can be sourced or manufactured through qualified international partners when program requirements, cost, or schedule make that approach advantageous. In all cases, configuration control, material traceability, and acceptance testing remain under 1X oversight so that the delivered hardware meets the same standards regardless of production location.
This flexibility is useful for international programs, offset requirements, or situations in which a customer needs hardware that interfaces with both U.S. and non-U.S. platform elements. Lead times and minimum order quantities are structured to accommodate development quantities, low-rate initial production, and longer-term sustainment demand.
Engineering support is available to customers regardless of location. Interface definition, harness design, actuator configuration, and system integration can be performed remotely or on-site as the program requires, with the resulting designs released into the same controlled manufacturing process used for all 1X aerospace products.
Value Across the Platform Life Cycle
The 1X aerospace portfolio is structured to deliver value at every stage of a platform’s life.
During development, rapid configuration of actuators, interconnect, electronics, and complete unmanned or robotic systems allows design teams to iterate without long supplier lead times. Prototype hardware is produced under the same traceability practices that will later support production, reducing the transition risk from development to qualification.
In production, consistent documentation, configuration control, and the ability to supply both components and integrated assemblies simplify supply-chain management. A prime or government customer can obtain the electrical and electromechanical content of a subsystem from one source, with one set of quality records.
In sustainment, ongoing production capability, spare provisioning, and engineering support for obsolescence or upgrade keep platforms operational. Shared component families across flight systems, ground equipment, and robotic tools reduce the total number of unique items that must be stocked and managed.
This life-cycle approach is possible because 1X manufactures and integrates the interconnect, actuation, electronics, and higher-level systems under one organization. Changes that affect multiple elements of the architecture can be coordinated internally, and the resulting hardware is delivered with uniform documentation and traceability.
